University of Arizona Integrated Learning Center

Southern Arizona K-16 educators are invited to attend a special conference that will emphasize the significance of “borders” in language and culture study and teaching. Keynote speakers Javier Durán and Glenn Martínez of the UA Department of Spanish and Portuguese are outstanding young faculty members working on border related issues, including how borders condition and affect language study in all languages.

Language-specific networking sessions will allow AZ language associations to disseminate important information of ongoing and future activities as well as a chance for teachers to re-connect with each other after a long summer. Concurrent sessions will offer professional development in a wide range of topics that affect the teaching and learning of second languages in Arizona.
